Hey there everyone! Here's today's update.

I found this image online and decided it'd be perfect for today's painting, have a look.

This one was really fun to do, it's not a terribly complicated landscape so that left me with a lot of time to spend on getting those colors right. I must confess I spent about 25 of my 29:59 minutes painting in the trees, then the last 4 copying and flipping the image and applying a blur filter. I cheated a little there (since I really want to hand paint everything in these), but I don't think it was too bad. Here's the original for comparison.

Hey there everyone! Here's today's update.

Yesterday's piece was full of warm color, I went back to cool tones for this painting today. Have a look.

I really like the way this one turned out. I was very careful to follow the lines in the photo so that everything was where it should be in my painting. The color's still a little off in the sky and clouds, but I'm not too bent out of shape about it. This one was completed in 29:59. It wasn't terribly complicated so it didn't take much time at all to complete. Here's the original for comparison.

Hey there everyone! Kinda late update this evening but here we go!

It took a little while to find something I really liked, but as soon as I saw this image I knew it was what I wanted to work on. Check it out!

I think this is more along the lines of what I wanted to do yesterday. I really wanted to work with some reds and browns since every other painting thus far has been a lot of blue and green. Here's the original for comparison.

I feel like each time I do one of these I get a little bit more accurate as far as placement of the main forms in the scene. The slope of the cave wall on the left's not exactly correct, but other than that it's a pretty faithful reproduction. It was really fun to use some different colors and paint in the light on the rock.

That's all for today, there will be another update tomorrow!

Hey everyone, here's today's update! I mentioned yesterday I wanted to do something involving a desert for today's painting and I did, have a look.

Full disclosure, I kinda have no idea how long this one took. I accidentally reset my work-space in Photoshop so I trying to fix that while painting. Let's call this one done in a little over an hour. I like the color, I exaggerated the blue in the background to give it a little more depth, and the sand in the foreground was made a bit more saturated. Anyway, here's the original.

I think the thing I'm happiest about is this one seems to be the most accurate of the bunch so far. The mountains look like they're where they should be, the dunes aren't quite right but they're pretty close.

That's all for today, see you tomorrow!

Hey everyone, it's time for another update! I got this one done on time this evening, it was finished in 30 minutes 56 seconds. I'm trying to vary my subject matter a bit so today I painted an iceberg. Here's how it turned out.

I'm pretty happy with how this turned out. I managed my time well, I spent about 2 minutes sketching the outline, then filled it in from back to front. It's not a perfect match to the original image, but it's a good-enough approximation.

Here's the original for comparison.

That's all for today, I'm thinking I might need to do a desert tomorrow, I haven't painted one of those yet!

Hey everyone, time for another update!

It was completed on time in 33:03, but I'm not super crazy about it. I probably would have taken more time to refine it a little further but I've been up since 4 in the morning so there's no way that's happening. Here's what it turned out to be.

That's all for tonight, hopefully tomorrow's will be a little bit better. See you next post.

Hey everyone! Here's today's landscape speed-paint. Sorry this post was so late today, my schedule has changed for school so I'll be updating in the evenings Monday through Thursday in the evening.

This was another one that I needed to spend  just a bit more time on, it was "finished" at 30 minutes 56 seconds, but I took an extra 7 minutes to get it to a place where I was happy with it. Check it out!
