Hey everyone, it's that time again for another blog post! I did a little sketch on my iPad while at work and this is what I came up with.

He's kinda cool, I liked the whole lava theme I had going so I decided to give him his very own finished digital painting!

The design didn't stay exactly the same, he looks a bit more sinister here (which I'm totally okay with). I really like the smoke from the volcanoes in the background, and the heat coming off of the lava in front. I wanted him to appear like he was just stepping out of the molten pool behind him and his body was still forming. That's why I his hands in a sort of stringy dripping state. I'm really happy with the overall look of the piece, so much so that I'm doing a series of elemental creature designs. The next one's in the works so look for a new update soon!

Hey there! So I don't have any art to share this evening but I was out taking some photos of the full moon last night and I had to post one here. I couldn't believe the detail I was able to capture! Check it out (make sure to click the image to view it at full size).

This was shot with my Canon T3i, I was using my 70-300mm lens. It was taken at 300mm, ISO was 400, f-stop was 5.6, and the shutter speed was 1/2000 of a second. Technical stuff aside, this was a photo that made me feel like a kid again. I couldn't believe something I held in my hands could give me a look this close at our nearest cosmic neighbor. It reminded me of all the time I spent looking at books about space in school, I got a little bit nostalgic. I hope you enjoy the photo. There's lots of stuff around us all the time that can really inspire a sense of awe, don't forget to take the time to appreciate those things.

So this update was a bit delayed, sorry about that. I got pretty sick last week, my nose started running a marathon without my permission, so it was kinda hard to work on any art (or do anything really). Without further ado - here's the barbarian concept I teased in my last post.

Just your standard strongman type, I think he's pretty cool though. His necklace was inspired by an old viking pendent I saw in a book I read recently, the design was a simple face made out of silver. I really liked it so I decided he might look good with a little bling. Kinda adds interest to the character.

I was hoping to have finished the piece that he and his demon "friends" would have been featured in by now but I ended up scrapping my original design because I just found the arrangement of all of the elements a little bland. Once I settle on a new design I'll post the old concept with some commentary about why I scrapped it.

I have plenty of other stuff in the works right now, it's been hard to find the time to finish things lately though. I'm trying to update as much as possible so look for some new stuff soon. Thanks for stopping by! Till next time!
